Judaism was formed in 2000 B.C. It is one of the oldest religions in the world. Judaism began with a man named Abraham. The place it originated in is Canaan. This religion has fourteen million followers.
Classification
Judaism is a Monotheistic religion. That means that they believe in only one god.
Founding Story
Judaism started from Abraham. In his religion, people believes in many gods. He questioned those beliefs. Abraham had gathered up a small group of people who believed the same thing he did. Later on, Abraham had a vision. In his vision, God told Abraham to take his people to a new land.

An important key figure in Judaism is Abraham. He is the god that they believe in.
Religious Books
Some religious books from Judaism include the Torah. and the Talmud. The Torah is the first five books of Tanakh. The first five books are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The Talmud is a collection of rabbinical writings. They explain the Torah scriptures.
Goals
The goal of Judaism is to embody the Torah. Another goal is to live life in peace with God.
Beliefs about Afterlife
Jews do believe in the afterlife. Judaism is more focused on life than the afterlife. In traditional Judaism, they believe that death isn't the end of human existence.
Guidelines for daily life
When they wake up they say a prayer. They also say a prayer before they go to sleep. Jews practice the commandments everyday.
Concept of Higher Power
God is the higher power. Jews believe that he is the creator of the universe. They also believe that God created everything. God is at all places at a time.

Hanukkah- Most Jews are familiar with Hanukkah. Hanukkah begins in December. It lasts for eight nights.
Passover- It is a holiday celebrated in the spring. Passover begins in April. It lasts for seven days
Days of Awe- This holiday is celebrated in the spring. Days of Awe begins in September. It lasts for ten days.

Branches
There are three different branches of Judaism. The three branches are Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform.
